Testimonials
My husband and I did a lot of research on speech therapy. Fortunately, I have a friend who knew Isa on a personal and professional level. She assured me that there was no one better than Isa Marrs. Well, we owe my friend a debt of gratitude. Our child has improved with every appointment. Normally a shy child, she excels and feels happy when it is time for her weekly speech appointment. Isa has given her confidence in herself.

In the year Isa has been working with my daughter, her progress has been amazing! My daughter loves coming, and works so hard to follow Isa’s advice on her speech. On the whole, Isa is the most rational, caring, warm-hearted person my daughter has ever worked with. Her ability to understand the parents point of view, and see things clearly and rationally has been WONDERFUL for our entire family. I trust and respect Isa whole heartedly.

My son’s speech therapy had magical results. When he started, he was willing to talk and excited to share his ideas, but became frustrated when people could not understand his articulation. His therapist provided him with the skills necessary to improve his articulation, and she did this with patience and good humor.

Moving my son to a new speech pathologist was very difficult for us. Since he did not speak until he was 6, we were worried that he would not continue to make the progress that was so critical to his development. Isa understood our concerns, and was careful to place my son with therapists that understood his disabilities and could connect with him. He has made progress in areas we never thought he would. They continue to take new approaches to help him make real gains in his speech and language.

My daughter made noticeable progress after only a handful of sessions with Isa over the summer. Her articulation is excellent now, and she responds to gentle reminders when she slips into her previous habits. Best of all, she was always asking “Can I play with Isa today?” She loved going there, and didn’t want to leave! Thank you Isa, for making a world of difference with our daughter.

I am so happy with the progress I’ve seen in my son. His therapist not only works on speech with him-helping him articulate, and teaching him new words-she also helps him learn sequencing, math and basic things all kids are learning. All the therapists I’ve seen here are very positive and upbeat, and they always keep parents and caregivers “in the loop.” Overall, coming here is a very positive experience!”

I have noticed a huge improvement in both of my boys. They explain to me everyday how they should, and shouldn’t, say certain words. It is amazing to see such a difference in such a short amount of time. They find homework fun (almost like a game). I feel they get more help here than in nursery school! It is simply money well spent. Isa and the staff make us feel welcome and show a lot of interest in the children.

Our son had speech classes in public school from 1st-5th grades, but they never seemed to help. In 5th grade, the school gave up on him. We took him to two different speech specialists during the next couple of years and, again, we saw little change. He became busy in high school so we let the speech become a low priority, until the second half of his senior year when he asked, “Will I always talk like this?” Checking the internet, we found Isa. Our son took this seriously, and for the first time we saw (and heard) definite improvement. We just wish we had found Isa years ago.

After seeing and hearing the progress our daughter has made over the last few months, I am certain we made the right decision. She can be stubborn and gets frustrated when she is struggling to communicate, but her therapist is able to get her focused and has overall increased her confidence. In the past, she would cry when we didn’t understand her, but now she will really try to repeat herself clearly. I appreciate her therapist’s patience and tenacity! She is a great fit for us!

My daughter wasn’t making much progress in her group speech class at school so we decided to look for individual speech therapy to help her correct her articulation errors. Isa was able to quickly identify her what her issues were, and devise a plan that enabled her to make immediate progress. This success, along with strategies to keep her motivated in doing her speech homework has made a huge difference in both her articulation and attitude toward speech therapy. She looks forward to sessions filled with games that she plays with Isa, and it will be a bittersweet day in the near future when she has achieved success, and no longer needs to come in for therapy. We are very fortunate to have found Isa Marrs, and would highly recommend her.

We are so happy with the services our 5-year-old son has received at Isa Marrs Speech Language Pathology. While our son had a slight articulation problem with r’s and th’s, the difference in his speech, confidence, and “gift of gab” is staggering. His therapist made each session fun for our son through her creative methods and positive reinforcements. Our son is no longer hesitant to enter conversations or express his opinions to friends, classmates and adults. The confidence he has gained and the success he has experienced has given him back his love of speech.

My son was eight years old when he began receiving speech therapy from Isa. He had received speech therapy for years, but with limited success. After just a few months with Isa, we saw a marked improvement. Isa worked with him on drills that improved his articulation, and provided ample take home work. She was always professional and a pleasure. My son didn’t mind traveling a long distance for his therapy, because he enjoyed Isa’s company. I would highly recommend Isa for anyone looking for a speech therapist.

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Isa. My three year old is always excited to come to his appointments. We’ve been coming for a few month and his speech issues (lateral and front lisps) are nearly resolved. Isa is kind and professional and my son loves her. I absolutely recommend her services.

Our daughter developed a lisp, and our pediatrician recommended Isa. We decided to have the consultation to see if our daughter would “like” Isa, and want to go back for therapy sessions. She loves her and did very well in her sessions, and did her homework to please Isa. Good fit, great therapist! Thank you Isa!

In the months my daughter has been coming here, her speech has improved significantly. Most of the sounds she has trouble with have been fixed. Her therapist is really great with her, giving lots of encouragement, and interesting practice routines, which my daughter enjoys doing.

My daughter’s therapist has been wonderful. She is kind and patient, and my daughter is very comfortable working with her. She is very attentive to her needs, and has recognized some issues that were not previously brought to our attention. I am very happy with the progress my daughter has made since she has been working with her therapist.

Our son has been seeing Isa for 2 months, and has advanced so much. He’s more responsive and connected to his speech therapy. We also see the carry over at school, and at home. He is trying to verbally express himself more. Just in these past 2 weeks, he was able to pronounce the “sh” sound. That is a first, and we are so excited.

We have had a great experience with Isa Marrs for our son. It has been about five years on and off that we have used her services. Besides being professional, positive and very capable, all of the therapists have been very flexible in their time and approach. On our son’s latest IQ test, the areas that he scored the highest on were the areas he worked on with his therapist. That is not a coincidence.

When I brought my 6 year old son to Isa for food aversion therapy, I wasn’t sure what to expect. He is a very selective eater with serious anxiety and repulsion toward most foods. Isa was extremely respectful of my son, and within weeks had him eating a variety of fruits, which he hadn’t touched in several years. Isa uses a reward system, which was very easy to transition to at home for continued reinforcement. Two months later, my son has expanded his repertoire of lunches and dinners to the point where going to dinner, or to a friend, is no longer a chore, a fight, or a source of anxiety for us. I highly recommend Isa for feeding therapy.

I am extremely happy with the service that I receive for my son. He began with such a severe oral aversion to textured food. He was only eating mechanically soft and pureed foods. Now, his diet has drastically changed. My son is now eating a regular diet for toddlers. His therapist is phenomenal. She is nurturing and caring, yet strict. If I haven’t expressed it enough, I am grateful for Isa Marrs and the expert speech and language pathologists that provide life changing services.

We started therapy for my 5 1/2 year old son, Ben, 6 weeks ago. The difference in unbelievable. He was vomiting at school on average once a month, and since he started therapy, he hasn’t had any gagging reactions to certain foods. He is much more confident at the school cafeteria, because of the tools his therapist gave him to keep during lunch. He can also now sit with his sister at meal time and not “freak out” when certain foods are present at the table. We are so pleased with his progress, and there are more happy times ahead. We have been looking for a long time for someone to help our son, and we finally found the right place! Thank you!!!

Isa has an uncanny ability to quickly figure out what seems to work best for addressing my son’s speech needs, while at the same time keeping the atmosphere light hearted and fun. Isa is very adept at identifying my son’s strengths and interests and then using those same strengths and interests to help him address the areas where his speech needs work. My son is always excited when he knows it’s a day when he will see Isa.

After getting my daughter evaluated by Early Intervention in January, I felt dissatisfied. I felt the evaluation was inconclusive because it was cut short and never completed. After the evaluation I was told that she was eligible for speech and language services, but they could not accommodate my daughter until August. So I started to search privately online, which is how I found Isa.
Isa did a formal evaluation of my daughter which was thorough and concise and immediately accommodated my child.
It has been almost a year now, and conversing with my child now is like dealing with a completely different little girl.
Not only has Isa been monumental in the progress of my daughter’s speech and language abilities, she has helped me with finding developmental pediatricians, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists and physical therapists, all of whom have helped diagnose and treat the other symptoms that my daughter was exhibiting.
The type of services my daughter receives through Isa Marrs is what I would give to my child if I were qualified to do so. The type of caring and concern Isa treats her clients with is that of a family member.

Isa has an astonishing ability to leverage her deep specialization skills to get our young child to enthusiastically respond, learn and have fun. Our child’s progress has exceeded high expectations, in a relatively short amount of time, and Isa has accomplished this in a very positive way. She has earned the love of our child and the respect and trust of the parents.

She was able to not only immediately connect with my son but also with her treatment we saw immediate results.
Strangely, a Greenwich therapist told us we would have to be in therapy for 7 or 8 years. Isa’s thoughts were more towards several months. Due to illness and a relocation we were unable to complete therapy but my son continued with exercises.
He still needs some therapy and when it came time to consider returning to speech therapy we had to have Isa Marrs. We now live over an hour away, but believe it’s worth the effort and the trip.

My 3 year old son came to see Isa after being referred by our pediatric ear, nose and throat physician. My son had some speech and language issue resulting from hearing loss and throat problems. He bonded with Isa immediately and made tremendous progress. Coming for speech therapy is one of the highlights of his week. As far as he is concerned, it is play time especially for him. When we began his speech was rapid and difficult to understand. He is now easily intelligible.Thank you Isa!

My son felt comfortable with Isa the very first visit. I found Isa in the yellow pages after the two therapists my friends recommended were not the right fit. My son does not mind doing his homework or going to Isa’s two times a week because even at 8 years old he can tell the difference in his clarity. People tell him how much better his speech is, and he is proud of his progress in these four months. We are so happy we found Isa and only wish I had found her sooner.

Isa was a godsend. I discovered her practice through the internet and I am so thankful for the find. From day one, Isa was knowledgeable, professional, was extremely educated regarding her field and had vast experience for the type of speech therapy my son needs.
She is so special that the preschool in our district has called on her several times to help children with feeding issues (we live in Greenwich, CT).
